Hi, It's Mike!

Once upon a time, in the ’80s, when I was a child, video Games were the thing. With personal computers coming, geeks of all types had one dream: “I'll make a great game, sell it for a million pounds, and then buy a fantastic PC and two commodore Amigas - for bathroom and kitchen, just in case.”

So I created my first video game when I was 12. Honestly, the game sucked; I was the only Player. But it worked, and it was a start.

My first computer - only 32 KB and Basic

Later while I was changing careers, from desktop publishing, through video animation to full-time developer and business owner, game design and development was something I would return to from time to time. I’ve published around 20 titles throughout my career; some of them were pretty popular in a small European country I lived in at the time.

Last ten years, I hustled hard to start and develop a sustainable health tech business based on IA technology, building a company from ground zero to a seven-figure with offices in eight countries on two continents.

And then it struck me again - like the bite of some strainge bug. I started to feel the yearning to tell the story, to play god by building new worlds and creatures. I was struggling hard against it - I mean, thousands of games are published every month, and it is almost impossible to cut through all that noise.

But, the heart was stronger than sense, and the decision is made. The world needs another 2d platformer. I teamed up with a young talented writer and, in the words of Sherlock Holmes: “The game is on foot!”

This newsletter is dedicated to the backstage of our game creating process. We will try to make a game, find publisher and release it as new Indie Game Studio called Meraque Arts. If you want to follow us on this journey and witness a new game creation from the front seat, please join the newsletter and have fun!
